Snowy Sunday!

As previously posted, I spent the last four days in Utah with my Mr. To-Be.  This past Sunday, like the rest of my trip, was entirely magical!  I woke up and got ready for church as usual, but the surprise came when the fiance called telling me he was there and to grab an umbrella because it was SNOWING!
Oh my good golly goodness!  That just about made my day!  I love the snow and being a California girl, never get to see it.  It was like we got to celebrate Christmas all over again . . . well, sort of :)
The entire walk and drive to church I was just elated - definitely mesmerized by how beautiful everything was!  It's crazy how perfect and peaceful everything seems when it's covered with sparkly blankets of white snow.  I was obsessed with taking pictures every step of the way.  Especially on the way back, because we weren't rushing to be anywhere.  And that's where I snapped this picture.  I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite :)
Then of course I got him to take one of me.  I feel like I'm in the snowy forest in Narnia, right when you cross through the wardrobe.  I know, I know - I'm a total geek.  But the Chronicles of Narnia is such an amazing series! You can deny it if you want, but you know it's true.

Then when we headed back to the car, prince charming opened the door for me so I could get nice and warm while he got all the snow off.  Oh golly, I just love when my man does manly things.  It makes me feel like such a lady.  Especially when I get to be all dressed up too :)

We spent the remainder of our day at the future sister-in-law's house with her darling little family, watching Disney movies, taking naps, and having a delicious homemade dinner.

I don't have pictures of it, but we ended the night playing speed scrabble and scattegories.  I will gladly announce that I placed second in speed scrabble!  That's the best I've ever done - everyone was so surprised, including me!  Then scrattegories was just hilarious, as usual.  And we found out that a certain someone was being sneaky with their points!  Oh well, games are games - and it just leaves us with happy memories.

I hope everyone had a Sunday as lovely as ours!  Unfortunately we don't get to spend too many together.  But that will all be changing soon :)

Dream Days

In my opinion, nothing gets better than the day date.  Day dates are the best kind of dates to go on.  These are the early-mid morning to evening kind of dates.  They let you see the person at all hours - both their good and their bad sides.  Plus you have so much more time for fun activities!

In honor of dates and the near approaching Valentines I'm going to blog more about one of the best dates, and thus weekends of my life.

My man knows me.  There is no other way around it.  He knows me through and through, and I know this for a fact.  Especially because he planned perfectly to pick me up at exactly 11:11am.  Dumb boy. He knows exactly how to win me over!

Then of course, being the charming gentleman he is, came in to get me and opened my doors.  I'm such a sucker for anything romantic.  He knows me better than I know myself, I'm sure of it.

After that, he surprised me with one of the best surprises a girl could ask for!  He drove us 30 minutes to Thanksgiving Point,  just so we could go to the Dinosaur Museum!  Boy oh boy! I love ancient life, and I love, love, LOVE dinosaurs!  The drive to Thanksgiving point was absolutely beautiful.  Snowcapped mountains are perhaps one of the most beautiful sights a person can see.  They're so majestic and peaceful.  Which is, without a doubt, made even more beautiful when you're holding hands with the person you love most in the world, listening to songs that make your heart beat fast and a smile impossible to wipe off your face.

Ok. Enough with the mushy stuff!  So we get to Thanksgiving Point and we walk into the dinosaur museum. And sure enough, my day gets even better!  I noticed just before we walked into museum after we paid I noticed this little sign.

I. Love. Gnomes. Not only that but it was a game! Basically the story goes, that 13 gnomes protect the museum and your job is to find them! So uhm, of course we tried our hardest to find them. We went through the entire museum one time and looked at all the exhibits. . . we didn't see a single one!! So we went back through and hunted them down.  It was just way crazy how hard they were to find!  It was so tricky.  Some of them were painted on walls, some were hiding in trees and bushes (in the exhibits of course).  We weren't all that successful.  But we did find five of the thirteen!  It wasn't that great, but a guy who has been working there for over a year only found eight of them!
So we did pretty well! But that also means we have some massive plans for the next time we're together in Utah - gnome hunting

But enough about gnomes. DINOSAURS!  Oh man, how I love those great giants.  They mesmerize me.  And every time I see their bones and learn about them I am so in awe about everything about them.

After the museum we saw the muppet movie at the dollar theater and then I was surprised with a dinner at La Jolla Gardens in Provo.
This restaurant is the most amazingly beautiful restaurant I've probably ever been to.  You walk into this stone cave.  Then once you past the arch, it was filled with lemon trees that had all these lights hanging down.  Oh my gosh, the colors were so beautiful.  I have to admit, I didn't take the pictures of the restaurant.  Mine were accidentally deleted off my phone . . . But these ones are super pretty!

The food was divine.  So fresh and so real.  The dessert was by far the best part of the meal though. It was to die for!  We shared a La Jolla Groves Lemon Cake which is essentially a lemon bundt cake served with this delicious white creamy sauce with a caramel shell topped with raspberries and a mint leaf.

Then to end the night.  We danced outside under the stars.  Both of the real ones and the strings of lights they have.
Honestly, that was the best part of my whole day.  Just being able to be with him and holding him and being held is so nice.  Dancing with my fiance was one of the first memories I have of us being in a relationship.  It was what we did in his living room the night he told me he loved me for the first time and it's what we did in his kitchen the first time I cooked for him.  Dancing with him is something so special for me.  I love him so much.  I am so incredibly grateful I have him in my life.  I can't imagine what I'd do without him.  My life would definitely be incomplete without him.  I love him with my whole heart.  He is my world.

Day Two

I'll admit it. I go a little picture crazy. Most of my posts are 90% pictures and 10% words. But I promise I'm going to get better!

Yesterday, at the crack of dawn, I flew to Utah to visit my sweet and silly fiance. It was a short, but smelly flight filled with babies, dogs, and some smell that I refused to admit was vomit (yuck). After I landed I grabbed my bag and headed outside to the chilly air and waited for my favorite future sister-in-law to pick me up. I spent the rest of my day hanging out with her and these cute little rugrats.

At around 5:30 I finally got to see my favorite person in the whole world. The day took forever(!) in a good way. But I was finally with him. As we were driving there was a beautiful sunset over the snow capped mountains and I remembered one of the reasons I love it here so much!

We spent the rest of the night eating, watching movies, and reading together.

And now for Day Two!

Oh man! I'm really excited and somewhat anxious for today. Its a mystery day-te. My future Mr.  has made it very clear that this is planned, paid for, and paired off.

I'm really excited about this. Even though it may just be something small and silly, we're going on a date! Oh man! That sounds normal to so many couples, but for us, that is a once in a blue-moon experience. Dom and I only spend about 30% of the whole year together, and this has been happening for the past 3.5 years! Don't ask me why, we're absolutely crazy, and if you want my advise DON'T DO IT. I mean, to me it's worth it. But we definitely have dealt with a ton of hurt feelings and frustration from miscommunications on all sorts of levels coming from all different directions. It takes very peculiar people to be able to work out a long distance relationship, and I'd be lying to you if I said we were strong the whole time. I'm pretty sure our relationship is fireproof now, but we almost separated more than once - for no other reason than distance tears people apart and breaks them down. All in all, if the person you're considering doing distance with is the only person you can ever imagine yourself with and ever be close to for your whole life, do it - but be prepared. It - is - difficult. But just remember when you "choose your love - love your choice!"

Anyway, to end on a more uplifting note: I still don't know what today has in store for me. But you'll all get a post soon elaborating!
